The Heritage Series Butcher Block, our heaviest and most durable end-garin cutting board yet, is built to outlast the kitchen it's sitting in. At a full three inches thick, we designed for it to be passed down from one generation of chefs to the next.
Every Block is made from locally sourced premium hardwoods, then milled right here in Sandy Spring, MD. Made in small batches and designed so that no two are the same. Each is truly a one-of-a-kind piece.
Currently available in Sapele, Maple, and Cherry/Maple.

Why End Grain? End-grain cutting boards, often called butcher blocks, are durable, long-lasting, and anti-microbial, making them the preferred choice for professional chefs and home cooks. They are cut so that the wood fibers are oriented upright, which allows the board to absorb the impact of knife cuts rather than dulling the blade. This creates a self-healing surface where small cuts close up over time, extending the board's lifespan. These tight fibers also limit the absorption/retention of bacteria and moisture, making it harder for bacteria to penetrate deep into the board, helping to keep the surface cleaner and more hygienic.
